Facing Islington's sudden explosive shopping spree, the three were determined to get the dress on the next floor, but the results were a crushing defeat. |
And to make matters worse, Islington's luggage blocked the way to the staircase. The only way forward is to steadily move the boxes out of the way. |
Pancras |
"This will delay us further away from the dresses, won't it?" |
Vivienne |
"Oh mon Dieu, what can we even do!?" |
Versailles |
"........." |
Versailles |
"Everybody, there's probably a way. Please come this way." |
Watching Vivienne and Pancras hanging their heads in frustration, Versailles said quietly. |
Vivienne |
"Whoa, I felt like I'm floating for a second." |
Pancras |
"I didn't even know there was such a means of transport." |
Vivienne and the rest of us are impressed by what we saw. When the way to the staircase is blocked, Versailles shows us a strange box-shaped means of transport that moves up and down. There's a lever inside the sideways-opening lattice door to operate it. |
Versailles |
"This is called an 'elevator'. Supposedly I heard that a person named Elevator invented this, but I'm not sure." |
Versailles |
"I just knew this existed, but I had never ridden in it, so I was honestly worried. From the looks of it, it seems to be okay." |
Vivienne |
"If there was such a convenient means of transport, I should have used it from the beginning. I can get to any floor in no time♪" |
Pancras |
"But Versailles, why are you trying to go to the basement when the women's clothing departments are upstairs?" |
Versailles |
"If there is an elevator, we have the advantage in terms of mobility. So I wanted to buy some souvenirs for the SSS in the food department basement while we are here." |
Vivienne |
"Isn't that place just like a normal market?" |
Versailles |
"According to my preliminary investigations, there is a collection of pastries from famous pâtissiers all over M. St. Iris on sale." |
Vivienne |
"It's M. St. Iris, so I can't wait to see what's on offer. I certainly have a sweet tooth♪" |
Pancras |
"I would love to have a real cake from a pâtissier's. There are many cakes that are also very elegant." |
Versailles |
"While it's important to challenge Lady Islington over the dresses, I think it's also good to eat some good food here and there to release some of the tension." |
Vivienne & Pancras |
"I (quite) agree!" |
Before we knew it, we were in an all-out battle for the dress, but today's still a holiday. It's not a bad idea to enjoy spending time out and eating good food together. |
Versailles |
"I think we've arrived, everybody." |
The elevator doors opened, and the enchanting basement food hall unfolds before us. The place is packed with customers, but at the centre of the largest crowd is - |
Paddington |
"Hawawa, these macaroons are so good! Excuse me, but I'll take the rest of them, please~!" |
All Three |
"........." |
Pancras |
"I, thought I just saw a familiar face." |
Vivienne |
"Oui. I was so surprised I hit the button to close the door." |
Versailles |
"It was just our imagination, surely?" |
Vivienne |
"Let's check again." |
Paddington |
"All the cakes in the showcase, from here to there... No, I want everything, please!!" |
Vivienne |
"It wasn't my imagination..." |
Vivienne |
"Oh gosh, this is very bad." |
Versailles |
"Um, is it really that difficult when Paddington's here?" |
Pancras |
"Paddington is a Divine Child, that's why she always works miracles." |
Vivienne |
"Especially in unexpected directions..." |
Versailles |
"T-that's something I'd like to see, or maybe not." |
Vivienne |
"Paddington is Islington's sister, you know? If we dawdle, we're going to lose here too." |
Pancras |
"By the way, Islington said she and her sister came here together. If only I had realised that at the time..." |
Vivienne |
"What's past is past. I'm going to go in and buy some sweets and come back as soon as I can." |
Vivienne's words are met with nervous nods from both Pancras and Versailles. Then they opened the elevator doors again. |
Versailles |
"Huh, that's strange...? I don't see any of the guests who were here a moment ago." |
Pancras |
"What exactly happened in such a short time...?" |
The basement food department was eerily quiet. |
There was what appeared to be cold haze in front of us. And a silhouette emerged out of the haze. |
Paddington |
"The buy-in is complete!" |
Vivienne |
"WE'RE TOO LATE-!" |
Pancras |
"We've run out of elegant cakes..." |
Versailles |
"I see, so this is Paddington's power..." |
Versailles only muttered approvingly. |
No, it's not over yet. Paddington's actions always goes beyond our imaginations. |
Paddington |
"Oh my, you're all here too? Department stores are fun♪" |
Vivienne |
"Just so you know, we came here to buy sweets too, but they're all sold out, right, Paddington?" |
Paddington |
"Hawawa, I did bought them all!" |
Paddington |
"But don't worry, if there's something you all wanted, I can offer some to you." |
Vivienne |
"Really!? Thank you, Paddington!" |
Paddington |
"There's a stack of boxes behind me, open them and take what you wa-" |
Suddenly, the floor rumbled with what sounded like an earthquake. |
Versailles |
"What are these tremors?" |
Paddington |
"Hawawa, the weight is collapsing a hole on the floor!" |
Vivienne |
"Wa-! Paddington!?" |
Paddington |
"HAAA~~ WAAA~~ WAAA~~!" |
Suddenly, a hole appeared on the floor, and Paddington fell into it, alongside all the stuff she had bought. |
Vivienne |
"That girl really doesn't disappoint every time..." |
Pancras |
"She could have prevented it if she hadn't put everything in one place..." |
Versailles |
"Aaah, the souvenirs..." |
The three of them are disappointed to find that they have not been able to get anything again. |
Will they all be able to buy what they want...? |
