The Shana tribe is an original race in Mist Train Girls. While they initially have facial features similar to an elf, Shana possess traits such as very short stature (akin to a dwarf), affinity to the earth and magical artifacts, and have the innate ability to speak to and understand Mother Nature. Shana traits are very similar and likely inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien's hobbits.

Shana currently do not seem to be native to the continent of Iris Cloud, as revealed in the story of Forest Rangers' Eclair. There are more Shana in Metro Iris however, an underground universe parallel to Iris Cloud.
