Event Scenario/A Spooky Story About a Pumpkin

| After receiving a report of a Phantom Mist outbreak, we came to a town in St. Iris. The town is decorated for the upcoming Halloween festivities. | ||

"Amazing, this town is full of pumpkins." | |

"That's what we'd expect from a pumpkin-producing region. But a Phantom Mist outbreak before Halloween? That's sure out of luck..." | |

"Honestly, the place would have been bustling with people preparing for the festivities, but there's hardly a soul anywhere since a while ago." | |

"...Huh? Where did that San Diego ran off to?" | |

"Kehehe, interesting... What an interesting town." | |

"Halloween decorations everywhere, pumpkin lanterns on casual eaves, ghost cut-outs on the windows..." | |

"The best place for Halloween pumpkins... All too amazing. It's no surprise to say that this town exists just for me." | |

"There you are! San Diego, don't leave on your own." | |

"What now, Detroit, don't be so loud at me." | |

"I can't help it, give me such a nice view of the town, and I'd be stopping in my tracks." | |

"Sure, the decorated streets are pretty, but there's so few people here, yeah? Can't say this is so beautiful a scenery after all, can you?" | |

"Fair enough. Few souls running around, and the treats that's the highlight of the festival are sold out. The Phantom Mist makes this all a bit of a mess I'd say." | |

"Doesn't change the beauty of the pumpkins though. Even if this is all a cold scene." | |

"I understand what you're saying... but you though, can't say here's cold in front of the townsfolk, okay? They're probably frustrated because the festivities aren't going well." | |

"Of course not. You know what personality's like." | |

"Well, yeah, I do." | |
| San Diego isn't much of a people person. Even inside the Special Steel Squad, apart from greetings and other business-related contacts, the only two people she really talks to are her old buddy Detroit, and myself. | ||

"And by the way San Diego, why are ya dressed like that, for real...". | |

"This ain't my usual. Building and watching haunted houses is now my life's work." | |
| San Diego has her hands on her hips and her chest as she shows off her pumpkin costume to Detroit. | ||

"For me, Halloween pumpkins are indispensable part of my life..." | |

"When I heard that we were going to a town where these pumpkins are famous, even if it was just for a mission, I couldn't miss this chance. I just had to sign up." | |

"So your love of pumpkins won out over your shyness. Good thing there aren't many people in town. If it were crowded, you'd be screwed then." | |

"If that happens, you'll protect me then." | |

"Dammit, just don't wear that thing. Conductor, why did you even grant her permission to do that?" | |

It did bother me at first, when San Diego asked me about it, but on second thought, isn't it already Halloween in this town? I thought it might be better for her to pose as a tourist here to see the festivities and get some information here. | |

"What do you mean, getting information... San Diego of all people?" | |

Yes, and...? | |

"You heard me, I was talking about San Diego's shyness literally just now." | |

......Is everything fine? You sure you can talk to the townsfolk on your own, right? | |

"You don't have to be dressed for Halloween to gather information in the first place." | |

"We're here to clear the Mist in this town. We're not going to be treated badly." | |

That may be so, but there's no harm in being friendly. | |

"I'm not good at that either, so I'm not in a position to say what to do, but at least we have here a barrel of friendliness this time." | |

| Detroit looked across the street. Oh yeah, she's with us this time. | ||

"Ah, there you are! Nice to meetcha~!!" | |

Dover came running towards us straight after another missions, waving cheerfully. | |

"Hey, Dover's the same as always, did you get injured in the last mission or something?" | |

"I just scraped my knee, but don't worry! I'm not a child anymore, this doesn't count as an injury!" | |
| Detroit |
"O-oh. Fine fine." | |
| Dover |
"I know. I guess that's what happens when you show me woman's charm again." | |
| As soon as Dover joined the group, the atmosphere became instantly more lively. Surely it would be easier to gather information with her around. | ||

"Ah, San Diego, it's the first time we've talked properly, I'm Dover, nice to meetcha!" | |

"Oh yeah, everyone, I just heard that this town is haunted at night by a pumpkin ghost." | |

"And he says, 'Give me candy or I'll tear you to pieces' and attacks people who are out and about." | |

"I didn't know such a dangerous thing could appear. I wonder if it has something to do with the Phantom Mist." | |

| Dover cheerfully beats her chest. Right, then, we'll go out at night to investigate. | ||
