Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Welcome to this prison, Darling...♪"
One evening. After finishing my regular duties, I came to visit the Oshioki Prison as I had planned for some time.
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"This Oshioki Prison is-"
Abashiri, a member of the Special Steel Guard and the prison warden responsible for maintaining and managing Oshioki Prison, talked about the prison indifferently while staying closer to me than necessary.
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Despite its cute name, this place is a fearsome incarceration facility installed with the state-of-the-art security systems... It was built at the behest of the upper echelons of the SSS, and has been operating on a trial basis for about a month now..."
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Oshioki Prison is not for ordinary criminals, but for SSS members that have performed military misconducts... The children who misbehave have been overlooked, partly because Darling has been lenient and kind to them, until now..."
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"As long as me and Oshioki Prison still exists, no one can defy my Darling anymore... Ufufu♪"
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"You can keep on having girls you don't like locked inside... and I will 'oshioki' then properly on behalf of my beloved Darling... Ufufufufu♪"
Abashiri's unusual obsession with me is creepy for some reason, nevertheless, the fact is -- Up until now, punishment of SSS members who has violated military regulations has tended to be handled in an appropriate manner.
Conductor
The Special Steel Squad has been understaffed for some time -- and if we had sent people to prison every time someone misbehaved, we wouldn't have been able to maintain the front lines.
Conductor
However, the top brass did not understand, or perhaps did not like, such opinions on the ground. The bigwigs who just sit on their luxurious desks don't know what goes on in the field.
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"That's right... It is problematic to treat and imprison members who should unite and fight to protect world peace as criminals... Most of the members are also sensitive adolescent girls, so we don't know what kind of psychological trauma they will suffer from harsh prison life--"
Conductor
Of course, compared to normal prisons, punishments imposed on prisoners inside Oshioki Prison are less severe. Furthermore, prisoners can wear their own clothes instead of prison uniforms, and their living conditions are as good as possible.
Conductor
However, these are because of my strong insistence that the place should be like this. It seems to me that the senior management of the SSS fundamentally lacks consideration for their members.
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Ufufu. Darling is a person who is kind to everyone, even to me... You hated this - a sort of prison for internal purges, so to speak..."
Conductor
If that is the superior's intention, I had no choice but to comply orders as the 'Conductor', even if I am psychologically reluctant. I still question whether we really need such a prison.
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Yeah, I'm sure you do... That's why I've decided to give you a tour of the prison in this way, so that you can get your doubts answered..."
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Darling is the one who should be walking around proudly in the sunshine... This damp and gloomy prison just doesn't suit you..."
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Oh... I see, that's what you meant... Darling is saying, in a roundabout way, that you don't like me...?"
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"I am a descendant of a prison warden family, born and raised in prison, in other words, I am the prison itself... So, Darling was indirectly abusing me by criticising the prison...?"
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"How terrible, Darling is so mean... Even though I love you so much, you did not reciprocate... But it's okay, I knew from the beginning that this was love that wouldn't come true..."
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Even though I liked you so much, even though I loved you so much... We will never be munited in this life, Darling... Then I'll look forward to the next life, so please arrest me, imprison me, and send me to the death row..."
Conductor
Wait, what are you talking about? It's true that I don't like this Oshioki Prison, but I do consider you a valued friend, Abashiri.
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"I don't want to be a 'valued friend'... Tell me, tell me you love only me..."
Abashiri threw out her explanation of the prison halfway through for some reason and starts courting, to my dismay - and then...
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"...!? Darling, look out!"
Suddenly, the alarm rang out inside Oshioki Prison. Magic searchlights illuminate the surroundings in red, and several automatic sliding doors locked down parts of the corridor.
The speed at which the sliding doors were closing was so fast that any prisoner would be almost crushed between them. Abashiri yanked my hand back as quickly as she could, and somehow I managed to escape.
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"To prevent prisoners from escaping, if any prisoner steps into an unauthorised area, it is automatically locked with sliding doors... I hope this was just the security system malfunctioning..."
As if to contradict Abashiri's words, a nearby passageway explodes a moment later. The sturdy floor shattered without a second thought, and 'things' poked out from behind it.
Story Monster.png
???
"ORAORAORA! ORAORAORA!"
Story Monster.png
???
"ORAORA! ORARARA~!"
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Wha-What are these ora-ing things doing here!?"
Abashiri was indeed unable to hide her surprise, but she stood firm to protect me with her main weapon, a magical artifact. Over her petite head, I observed these unidentified people.
Apparently, they are so-called demihumans. Goblins, gillmen, orcs and trolls... Pests that look humanoid despite their ugliness, but have low intelligence and only know how to wreak havoc.
There is nothing similar among the demihuman species - except for some reason they all are wearing something similar to prison uniforms, and each a 'collar' of a distinctive design.
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Just what are these things...?"
Conductor
Prisoners, aren't they? Isn't that's what they're dressed like...?
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"No... As I explained earlier, Oshioki Prison only holds SSS members who performed military misconduct or infractions... There are beastkin and elves here, but not a single dangerous demihuman that's designated as such monsters..."
Conductor
If Abashiri, who is in charge of Oshioki Prison, says so, then this must be true -- So who are these demihumans?
Story Monster.png
Demihuman
"ORAORAORAORA!"
Story Abashiri.png
Abashiri
"Darling, get back...! Those demihumans are getting weirdly riled up, they're going to attack you...!"
True to Abashiri's warning, the demihumans look like they've lost their minds and are attacking immediately!
