Queensway |
"The enemies were right outside our garrison it seems. Glad it wasn't much of a threat. It did feel a bit too close to the city though..." |
Putra |
"Give me a break. I only just took a bath and I'm already soaked with sweat." |
Vivienne |
"Oui, I'm wide awake, but my body sure doesn't feel like it." |
Yoshino |
"Yakutsk, want to try some of Yoshino's bento then? It's made from the leftovers last night's dinner. They're delicious♪" |
Yakutsk |
"Eh? Nah, I'll pass. I have enough with what I brought for myself." |
Yoshino |
"If that's the case... Hai, aanmh♪" |
Yakutsk |
"Bah you, you're noisy. Just eat normally!" |
Vivienne |
"The little one sure is lively." |
Putra |
"Yeah, wouldn't even think she just woke up." |
Finchley |
"Is Queensway here?" |
Yakutsk |
"HAAAAAWAAAAHHHH--!?'" |
Yoshino |
"Oooh- Yakutsk's shock shocked." |
Queensway |
"Instructor Finchley!" |
Yakutsk |
"Oh come on, Instructor Finchley! Don't just come up behind me out of nowhere! You made me spill my rice! Why do you have to be so sneaky!? You should make your presence known!" |
Finchley |
"Well, I didn't want to intrude when you all were busy with your things." |
Yoshino |
"Heheh, Finchley Kyoukan, you're so nice♪" |
Queensway |
"Um, Instructor Finchley... did you need me for something?" |
Finchley |
"Aye, I heard that Conductor is joining you for morning lessons. There's something I wanted to show you." |
Queensway |
"Really!?" |
Queensway |
"I want to become stronger. I want to be able to protect Sir Conductor from whatever comes our way. That's how I felt once we learned of these Steel Seekers." |
Queensway |
"It's hard to keep a level head and make sound decisions when we're in the Phantom Mist. Half the things I can do in training I can't even manage while I'm in the Mist. This is all different from what I learned at the Knight Academy or being part of the SSS. I've finally come to realize all this." |
Finchley |
"And do you know what the difference is specifically?" |
Queensway |
"Specifically, you say?" |
Finchley |
"We Train Knights are different. We have the potential to use powers that normal knights and soldiers cannot. The key to this is of course Conductor... By the looks of it, you don't know this yet." |
Yakutsk |
"What do you mean by a power that normal knights and soldiers can't use?" |
Vivienne |
"I can't think of anything. What sort of power is it anyway?" |
Conductor |
The Train Knights of the SSS differ from the other military groups. Primarily how we ride the Mist Train and utilize the railways. |
Conductor |
But what Finchley is talking about... is a power unique to Train Knights. |
Finchley |
"And that 'special power' is, Conductor's magic." |
Queensway |
"Sir Conductor's magic... I know they say his powers are one of a kind, but it's something none of us could use ourselves, right?" |
Yoshino |
"Shashou's magic is what moves the Mist Train and it's super powerful. Yoshino and friends couldn't do that if we tried." |
Finchley |
"We might not be able to use them like he does. But it is possible to make use of a portion of them. Train Knights are able to accept the powers of Divine Children." |
Yakutsk |
"Conductor, is this true?" |
Conductor |
It is. The Divine Children of St. Iris are able to be supply chosen people with their energy, this is long well-known. |
Conductor |
The Phantom Mist and the railways are closely related. This is why research has shown that Train Knights who have received magi from a Divine Child have an increased ability to resist Phantom Mist. |
Vivienne |
"I see. You inherited those powers from your mother, didn't you, Sir Conductor?" |
Paddington |
"And the thing that allows Train Knights to use their powers on the railway has a name too. It's called an 'Iron Injection'!" |
Yakutsk |
"Woahhhh!? Paddington, where did you come sneaking out of!?" |
Paddington |
"I've been behind you this whole time though, Yakutsk?" |
Yakutsk |
"No way, you couldn't have been... You definitely came out of nowhere..." |
Paddington |
"Everyone of the SSS is able to receive a Divine Child's powers. This is because it is an absolute requirement to have such qualities as a condition for joining the SSS. Even I, by the way, have a slight predisposition to accept the Iron Injection." |
Paddington |
"In fact, I already got one from Conductor..." |
Yakutsk |
"HUUUH!?" |
Vivienne |
"But you can't fight, Paddington? What's the point then...?" |
Paddington |
"Well, that's obviously..." |
Putra |
"Obviously...?" |
Paddington |
"I was curious! I just let him inject me on a whim!" |
Queensway |
"But you're a Divine Child too, right? You should be able to supply magic too..." |
Paddington |
"Unfortunately I don't have any sort of powers like that!" |
Queensway |
"Oh, really..." |
Finchley |
"Even if assuming Paddington could do it... She wouldn't be able to match Conductor's. As you already probably know, Conductor's power is one-of-a-kind." |
Queensway |
"Then, let's say I get one of these Iron Injections myself? Would my powers become even stronger?" |
Conductor |
I can't necessarily say that. You'll be able to receive my powers, that much is certain. How well you can use them... That depends on the compatibility between the Train Knight and the person supplying the magic. |
Paddington |
"Magic, iron, whatever you want to call it. It all boils down to the relationship between the Train Knight and the supplier of the magic. I read that in a book once." |
Putra |
"I don't know what all of this is its all way too hard for me to understand~" |
Yoshino |
"To summarize, us Train Knights need to get real buddy buddy with Shashou and then we'll get crazy powers?" |
Putra |
"Ooh, then just say that the first time!" |
Yakutsk |
"So it'll depend on the situation and timing. Doesn't seem like a simple power up." |
Finchley |
"Perhaps some kind of a strong trigger. Perhaps being more powerful when lives are in danger, or intense emotions, situations like that." |
Vivienne |
I guess we'll know in time the more battle experience we get. Nothing but tough enemies sounds like a problem though..." |
Yakutsk |
"At any rate it doesn't seem like something we can make sense of with just training or studies..." |
Yakutsk |
"And, speak of the devil." |
Queensway |
"Enemy spotted! Stop the train!" |
Queensway |
"Instructor Finchley, please let us pick this back up later!" |
Finchley |
"Hmph, that's obvious." |
