The Special Steel Squad is sent to a mysterious desert by their guide, a Samantha.
We found our missing Mary, in that desert, where there is a huge factory. The Train Knights seemed to have joined her in the fight against the Mist Monster hordes.
Yakutsk	"Queensway, hurry! The monsters are closing in at your 6 o' clock!"
Queensway	"Miss Yoshino, just lower the iron fence! I'll be sliding in!"
Yoshino	"Ryoukai. Operating procedure, yosh. Function check, yosh. The steel shutters will be coming down at once."
Yoshino	"Safety check, nosh. Expect Queensway to showcase her athletic capabilities."
Yoshino was operating a large steel shutter with a chain-link mechanism. It's a pretty big device for a mere doorway, but is this purposed to prepare for a surprise attack from the outside?
Queensway, who was acting as a commander, had attracted a crowd of monsters after her. She's coming towards us at full speed, but there's still some distance to go.
Yoshino	"Hang in there, Queensway. If it looks like you're not going to make it, just shout and Yoshino will stop the closure."
Yoshino	"...Although it's unlikely to stop."
Queensway	"Bah!? That's faster than I thought!"
Queensway	"But this is nothing! If I give up, the game's over!"
Queensway	"OOOOOOOWAH!"
Queensway	"Hah, hah..."
Queensway	"Golly, I made it!"
Yoshino	"Ooooh, Queensway, nice run."
Yoshino	"Now all you have to do is get your stuck cape out of the way and you're all clear!"
Queensway	"What? Cape?"
Putra	"Queensway, it's stuck! Your cape is stuck!"
Queensway	"Oh, gosh! You're right!"
Yakutsk	"What are you all fooling about? You do know that there's a horde of Monsters right around the corner, do you?"
Yakutsk	"Blargh, you always let down your guard near the end. I'll draw away their attention from you, while you get yourself into position."
Yakutsk	"Come on, you monsters! You're dealing with Yakutsk here!"
Monster	"..."
Monster	"..."
Monster	"..."
Yakutsk	"..."
Yakutsk	"Huh? They didn't try to attack me...?"
Yakutsk	"Well then, that's fine if they don't attack me."
Yoshino	"The monsters were so energetic just a few minutes ago, now they have suddenly gone quiet."
Yoshino	"I see, so that's what happened."
Yakutsk	"What do you mean?"
Yoshino	"This device here acts like a barrier to protect the factory. Monsters cannot enter this side through the iron fence. Yoshino tries to analyse the situation in a very industrialist way."
Blackfriar	"The iron fence itself doesn't seem to have that kind of power. But the moment that it was lowered, a special barrier was triggered. It didn't have that kind of power before we entered the factory..."
Mary	"This whole factory is acting as a barrier. No Mist stone or magic power was used to activate such an effect. The contraptions here use technology not found in Iris Cloud."
Yakutsk	"Technology not found in Iris Cloud..."
Blackfriar	"You sound very confident in claiming that this technology is not found in Iris Cloud... Do you have any ideas what it is?"
Blackfriar	"Like say, is this place marked on the Giant Tree Map?"
Queensway	"Yes! The route map! Is it true that you got the Giant Tree Route Map, Mary?"
Mary	"I have a map?"
Blackfriar	"Our Samantha guide, told us. Mary Rosegarden got the Giant Tree Route Map in one of the places here."
Blackfriar	"Once we join you, we can go to the Giant Tree. Because of what it said, we used the Samantha's teleportation magic and we're sent here... We certainly would love to know if what it said is true, from your mouth."
Mary	"Oh, I get it now. Now I finally understand why Blackfriar has been so suspicious of me from the very beginning. I see why."
Blackfriar	"Oh, you knew? I thought I was doing a good job of hiding it."
Mary	"Eh, whatever. A person who's suspicious of a stranger like me at all times is more trustworthy than someone who blindly believes me. Though, I don't like your ideas of comparing my trustworthiness to a Samantha, though."
Blackfriar	"Even so, you cannot lie to me. You're under my supervision. Meaning, you deserve to be suspected."
Blackfriar	"The bare minimum requirement is for you to give us information about the Giant Tree. Remember, if you break it, you will be apprehended and put behind bars."
Mary	"We have already agreed on this - we will work together until we reached the Giant Tree. Allying with you all at present benefits my motives. I'm not going to deceive Miss Blackfriar or Lady Islington."
Mary	"Of course I don't intend to take advantage of Conductor either. After all, I am a Knight of St. Iris."
Queensway	"It is the knight's duty to protect the Divine Children..."
Mary	"But I'm in a bind. I was so sure that Conductor was coming here with the Giant Tree Route Map..."
Conductor	I don't know why you would think that, Mary, but unfortunately we just followed Samantha's lead and we're sent to you. We haven't done any exploration since we went through the Portal and haven't found any clues to that effect.
Mary	"The Samantha is wrong. I haven't found the Giant Tree Map yet."
Vivienne	"Does that mean that the Samantha was lying?"
Yoshino	"It could be that they are both lying. Or they could both be telling the truth."
Yoshino	"The term 'true but not true' is the most difficult paradox, isn't it?"
Yoshino	"Even if you think you are telling the truth, who knows if it is really true? So even if you trust the statement, you can still be deceived."
Vivienne	"Yes... it's so complicated that it's starting to boggle my mind."
Yoshino	"Yoshino is too."
Putra	"We have made great progress, but we can't find any clues, huh."
Yakutsk	"I guess we shouldn't believe that Samantha after all."
Queensway	"..."
Queensway	"...I think I can trust what that Samantha says."
Queensway	"That Samantha could read people's minds. She knew what Miss Blackfriar was thinking. She knew where Mary was."
Queensway	"And she really let us meet with Mary."
Queensway	"Not that I doubt Mary. But I think that Samantha has a lot of credibility when it comes to her abilities. It wasn't like the magic and sorcery that Mist Monsters use."
Queensway	"And if what the Samantha's claim to be our guide was true, I don't see the benefit it gains from lying to us."
Mary	"You've grown up. You've learnt to use your head a bit."
Queensway	"I've learnt from my many mistakes. I've made a lot of mindless decisions that have caused problems for everyone."
Queensway	"I want to believe you, Mary, I really do. That's why I want information that's worth believing."
Queensway	"There are many lives at stake in this fight. But we don't even know the details of why Mary is here. It's difficult to say that we're going to get our act together without suspecting anything."
Vivienne	"I agree. I don't dislike Mary, but I do think there's a bit of a lack of communication."
Putra	"Me too. I knows that Mary is very strong and she can do things that we can't."
Putra	"I still think you're a bit scary. Sorry if I offended you."
Mary	"No, you are right. If I were in the SSS, I would feel the same way. Like Blackfriar, I would keep that person on a leash."
Mary	"Right. So I guess I have to explain. From the looks of it, neither Islington nor Blackfriar have said anything else aside from the bare minimum."
Blackfriar	"We've do have our own ideas. Would you like me to share everything?"
Mary	"No. I'll do it."
Mary	"There's a lot to tell you, but first I'll tell you why I'm here, what I'm here for."
Mary	"My purpose is to join forces with the SSS. I'm not here to harm you. I know where I'm going, and I know it's a place where I can't get to without the help of the SSS."
Queensway	"So your aim is to join forces with the SSS rather than the Out-Siders?"
Mary	"In order to work with the SSS, I have to work with the Out-Siders, that's correct."
Mary	"I don't want a route map, I want a way into the Giant Tree and the means to get there. The only reason I am looking for a route map is to help you all. I personally don't have any benefits of keeping the Giant Tree Route Map to myself."
Blackfriar	"So there is no reason for you to run away with it. Is that what you're saying?"
Mary	"Exactly. There was no need in the first place. If I was on my own, I would choose my route on foot. Though, as I can't reach there with Gates, it'll be difficult to go on foot."
Mary	"The quickest way to achieve my goal is to join forces with the SSS. Because you of the SSS have a vehicle, and with the Route Map, you can reach the Giant Tree without fail."
Yoshino	"The name of that vehicle is the Mist Train."
Queensway	"I see! so Mary offered Lady Islington a deal in exchange for helping her to find the Giant Tree Map!"
Mary	"I know it's a selfish request, but please accept it. It's what we need to do to save this world."
Vivienne	"Islington's permission means that as long as Conductor says yes, Mary will be working with us temporarily as a member of the SSS."
Putra	"Well, it would help us if someone as strong as Mary were on our side..."
Blackfriar	"Mary's temporarily been assigned to the Out-Siders to look for the Giant Tree Map. Beyond that, her tasks are undecided."
Blackfriar	"But she wants to ride the Mist Train to the Giant Tree. If that's the case, she wants to be working together as part of the SSS, rather than as an Out-Sider member.
Queensway	"Does the Allied high command know about this?"
Blackfriar	'Hah, of course not. If they knew, Conductor's decision-making authority would have been overidden."
Yakutsk	"I see, Islington's very thoughtful. Not to report to the upper management, but to initiate an emergency mission first, with decisions made on the spot, she can allow this scenario to slip by."
Vivienne	"Islington's in command until we find the Giant Tree Route Map, but it's up to the conductor to decide whether or not to allow her aboard the Mist Train.'
Conductor	I can grant permission for Mary Rosegarden to board the Mist Train. I don't have much qualms about allowing this.
Conductor	But as fellow soldiers in a fight for our lives, to be honest, I'm not sure I find her completely trustworthy.
Conductor	Mary's goal, as I recall, was to go to the Giant Tree and "fulfil her role as a knight". I would like you to elaborate to me first what exactly that means.
Conductor	What will Mary do once she gets to the Giant Tree? And what do we have to do?
Conductor	Besides, Mary said this back at the Station.
Conductor	--In order to protect the Giant Tree, I borrowed the power of the Divine Child.
Mary	"...Yes, I did say that."
Conductor	After that. "I take over the role of the guardian of the Giant Tree to protect it".
Mary	"..."
Conductor	Answer me, Mary.
Conductor	The Giant Tree of St. Iris currently has a Divine Child, does it not?
Conductor	And it is that Divine Child that maintains the harmony of this world, isn't it? As the Guardian of the Giant Tree, she has become the pillar that supports this world and continues to protect Iris Cloud."

Blackfriar	"So it is your mission to protect this Divine Child."
Queensway	"Don't tell me you're going to use something like the Heavenly Sword of Mercy again?"
Mary	"No. That kind of power won't be enough to save our Divine Child."
Queensway	"Then how on earth can you..."
Mary	"Did you all had any dreams on the way here?"
Queensway	"Dreams?"
Mary	"While you were going through the gate or before you woke up here, you heard a woman's voice, didn't you all?"
Mary	"'Poison is Steel. Steel is Poison.' Did you hear a woman's voice throwing those words at you?"
Queensway	"I did!"
Vivienne	"Me too!"
Putra	"Poison is something that comes from the other side of the world. That's what it's called, isn't it?"
Vivienne	"That's it! The woman sounded sad. 'On the verge of withering away'!"
Yakutsk	"I wasn't the only one. We all heard the same voice."
Mary	"Probably everyone who passed through Samantha's gate must have all heard the same voice."
Mary	"It is the voice of the Divine Child appealing to us from the in-between worlds."
Mary	"It is the destiny of those born with this power to protect the Giant Tree. The Divine Children of St. Iris are the ones who, whenever the Giant Tree is polluted, become human pillars to protect Iris Cloud."
Mary	"But that's no longer possible. Her mind and body are already breaking down. She's even losing her sense of humanity."
Mary	"At this rate, she herself could destroy the world."

Dr. Gloria	"Big Bro... 'Perhaps mother has lost her mind under the weight of her role. She may have lost her mind a long time ago."
Dr. Gloria	"Maybe she can't resist the temptation of the evil Phantom Mist, and she's turned to evil and is trying to destroy the world."
Dr. Gloria	"Maybe that's why she wanted the superweapon - Jar of Heaven, which can easily destroy the world."

Mary	"Yes, perhaps. As long as there's a new human pillar sacrifice as the Guardian of the Giant Tree, it should be able to hold out for a little while."
Queensway	"Wait a minute, please."
Queensway	"Don't tell me... Mary, you're going to be the new human pillar?"
Mary	"I've already told you. I'm going to do my knightly duty."
Queensway	"Answer my question, Mary! Are you going to be a human pillar?"
Mary	"...Yes. I will protect this world as the new Guardian of the Giant Tree."
Queensway	"What's going to happen to you?'
Mary	"..."
Queensway	"Answer me! What will happen to you?"
Mary	"I'll be absorbed by the St. Iris Giant Tree. I will suffer the same pain that she has been experiencing for so long."
Mary	"The Divine Child of St. Iris knew her fate, but she is still willing to sacrifice herself to the Giant Tree."
Former Knight Commander, Mary Rosegarden, have revealed to us secrets of the Giant Tree.
It's a story we don't want to believe. If what Mary is saying is true, then everything she has been doing since the beginnning made sense.
And then this same person whom Dr. Gloria adores like her mother has the power of a Divine Child, I thought I had found the answer.
