Queensway	"The blizzard's brewing. I can't see anything down there anymore."
Putra	"C-c-c-c-cold, cold, cold! I-I was prepared for it to s-some extent, but w-what's with this c-cold? It w-wasn't this cold before we climbed the Wall, was iit?"
Queensway	"It's only natural that it's cold now that the wind has picked up. The wind's almost at a standstill when we departed."
Queensway	"I mean, Miss Yakutsk gave us a good explanation about that, didn't she? This is not as high as mountaineering, but the winds are strong and it blows suddenly, so we have to be prepared for that."
Putra	"We prepared for i-it, and t-this is what we got."
Paddington	"Fret not! I've prepared some super hot items for you, the cold-sensitive Putra!"
Paddington	"And it's called..."
Vivienne	"Paddington, don't come forward. You should be behind me, shouldn't you?"
Paddington	"Ah, aye, I'm sorry."
Bestyakh	"Everyone, we are almost at Fort IV. Just one more ladder to climb and we'll have a safe foothold. Let's keep our guard up until we get there."
Tayshet	"Will perform a lookout once we get to the fort. Everyone tired from climbing the walls, that which they are not used to."
Queensway	"That would be very helpful. Climbing the wall is harder than I thought it would be."
Putra	"It's not every day that I get to keep climbing a vertical wall. It's also such a high place..."
Yakutsk	"You shouldn't look down. If you must look, do so only after you are in a more secure position."
Yoshino	"Yakky-tan is right, if Putra goes down, only Yoshino and Yakky-tan can support you. It's not fair to put all your weight on us two little ones."
Putra	"One of the two little ones is monstrously strong, though."
Yakutsk	"Bestyakh, can you see the fort from there?"
Bestyakh	"We are just directly below it, so we can't see as far as the inside. All we can see is part of the scaffolding and chains. I can't see anything of interest at the moment."
Yakutsk	"I know we have to keep climbing straight up, but we should check our braces here once before going up to the fort. Instructor Khabarovsk climbed the wall to that fort and didn't not return. If anything happened, it must have been in this area."
Bestyakh	"That's also true. If she could have detected something unusual in this place, she could have sent a signal down there. Something must have happened up ahead that even she couldn't have predicted."
Bestyakh	"All of you, let's check the safety belts that hold you in place once more. Also check the strength of the fulcrums driven into the wall."
Putra	"H-h-hey, there's something wrong with the fulcrum here."
Yoshino	"What's wrong? Is it wobbly?"
Putra	"It doesn't wobble, but the puncture seems shallow. I think I'll stop using that here."
Yakutsk	"......"
Yakutsk	"Yoshino, can you reach up to that fulcrum? I'd like you to give it a little pull to try it out."
Yoshino	"Chotto chotto. No matter how much of a beastkin one is, it's still hard to pull out a fulcrum driven into the ice with bare hands."
Yakutsk	"I'm just checking its strength. No one is saying you have to pull it out. See, climb, climb."
With our target Fort IV in sight, we were once again securing our footholds and checking the safety of their hands when Putra pointed out a nearby fulcrum bolt that was 'not punctured much'.
Valentz is not a rocky mountain but a special ice wall, so it is unlikely that the bolts and other items driven in would stay in place. There must be a number of bolts that are not well-punctured and chains that are on the verge of coming off.
However, Yakutsk also seemed to be concerned about those bolts. It seems that she is more concerned about... the bolt's 'position', rather than the way it sticks.
Yoshino	"Putra's next to Yoshino, check. Will now compare strength of the bolts driven into the ice."
Putra	"At least it didn't move at all when I pulled on it."
Yoshino	"For now, will try pulling it with one hand."
Yoshino	"So-re!"
Putra	"Huh? You pulled it out?"
Yoshino	"And this bolt is too long, you think?"
Putra	"......"
Putra	"THAT'S WHY I DIDN'T WANT YOU TO DO IT, YOSHINO!"
Yoshino	"Sei sei sei. Calm down. Wasn't holding on Putra's lifeline."
Yakutsk	"Yoshino, let me see that."
Yoshino	"Hai. The colour is a bit weird compared to the others."
Yakutsk	"This is not from the Eisengrad Army. Besides, if it's this long and stuck this deep inside, I'd think even Yoshino wouldn't be able to pull it out."
Yoshino	"It slipped right out, thinks even Putra can pull it out just fine. Is it a matter of arm strength, or is it a gimon question to begin with?"
Yakutsk	"It's magic......"
Yakutsk	"It reacted to Yoshino's magical energy. It must mean something."
Yakutsk	"Earthquake! Everyone hold on tight! Stay as close to the wall as possible!"
A mysterious bolt was driven into the thick ice on the surface layer. When Yoshino pulled it out, the area suddenly shook.
Earthquake, avalanche, or falling rocks? Either way, all of them are a threat on this Wall, where the footholds are unstable. Bestyakh and Tayshet, who were at the top, also clung strongly to the ice wall and took emergency evacuation positions.
But this anomaly that struck us was no mere natural phenomenon.
Queensway	"Phantom Mist! The Phantom Mist is rising from below!"
Tayshet	"It's true. The Mist is blowing off the walls at great speed."
At the tail end of our unit, just below Yakutsk's position, Phantom Mist has erupted. Phantom Mist gushed out from the wall and gradually rose upwards.
Mist Monsters have not yet been spotted. However, the Mist itself is magical in nature and causes all kinds of abnormalities. If we are surrounded by Phantom Mist in the middle of the Wall, we never know what might happen.
Bestyakh	"Dear sister! Hurry up and climb up to the fort! If monsters appear, we can't intercept them here!"
Yakutsk	"Tsk, I knew there was a set-up to this..."
Yakutsk	"Yoshino, Putra, hurry up and climb the wall. We can still escape from the Mist."
Yoshino	"Got a little too far from Yakky-tan. Will pull you up, hold on to the rope."
Yakutsk	"Forget about me, get up there. You're covering for Putra. Vivienne has her hands full with Conductor and Paddington."
Yakutsk	"Come on, move!"
Yoshino and Putra resumed climbing the wall, separated from leader Yakutsk. In the meantime, the Phantom Mist kept creeping up the Wall.
Visibility was soon completely obscured and hints of magic could be felt in the area.
Vivienne	"This presence... its Mist Monsters."
Queensway	"I don't see any monsters yet..."
Vivienne	"It's not down there. It's up there. A lot of enemies are coming from the top of the fort."
Bestyakh	"Tayshet, we will engage them. Get up to the fort quickly and destroy the monsters from above. Hold them off at all costs until everyone below has finished climbing."
Tayshet	"Acknowledged. Will take out everything that comes from above."
During the gruelling 'wall climb', we were attacked by enemies from above and below almost simultaneously. This is the terror of the Valentz Ice Walls. It is a place that the Eisengrad Army abandoned their search. Conquering it was no easy task, even for soldiers with plenty of experience in the field...
