Khabarovsk	"We're here. Just up those stairs. Go ahead."
Yakutsk	"We've come quite a long way up. I was surprised to see the stairs inside the Wall..."
Yakutsk	"This is..."
Khabarovsk	"It's a lift. It goes all the way up. It probably goes to the top of the Wall."
Khabarovsk	"The structure itself is not much different from the ones used by the Eisengrad Army. But the scale is on another level. It would be impossible to generate enough magical energy to operate such a large-scale device with ordinary mist stones."
Yakutsk	"It can be done with a mist core. If you have a pure mist core that reacts to strong magic power, it's possible..."
Khabarovsk	"If that were possible, the Eisengrad Army would have produced a huge weapon that would be on par with the Mist Train by now. The technology to operate such a large iron machine without a mist core and reactor does not exist in modern Iris Cloud."
Khabarovsk	"Both this lift and the fortress are far ahead of our technology. It is quite possible that they are 'foreign objects from the otherworlds'."
Yakutsk	"What is that device next to the lift? It looks like a magical circle, but there no arts imbued in any way..."
Khabarovsk	"The sphere in the centre looks suspicious. It looks a bit like a device that accumulates the magical power of mist stones. If Conductor's here, he might be able to activate the lift."

Yakutsk	"Conductor... Thank goodness. You're safe."
Vivienne	"Hold up. You shouldn't be relieved until you're sure that we're all here."
Queensway	"Miss Yakutsk, Miss Khabarovsk. I'm relieved that you're both safe."
Vivienne	"Queensway, where are those things?"
Queensway	"Not a single one of them are able to come near us. We seem to have managed to shake them off."
Vivienne	"But I wouldn't feel safe yet. Even if we were able to evacuate, they're not gone yet."
Yakutsk	"What are those things?"
Queensway	"Wandering Lives. And there are too many of them to count."
Yakutsk	"What!?"
Queensway	"Unlike our time at Loren Citadel, we haven't been able to find the alpha, and we don't know anything about the source of the Phantom Mist. We also feel like we've just barely escaped with our lives."
Vivienne	"That white Wall is smothered black with them at this point. If we hadn't been able to escape here, none of us would have survived."
Khabarovsk	"Given the current circumstances, it's a miracle that we're all here now. Our luck's turning around. We can still continue our mission."
Khabarovsk	"Bestyakh, briefly summarize about the situation."
Bestyakh	"After we gathered at Fort IV, we immediately discovered that you went missing, dearest sister. Immediately after that, a Phantom Mist broke out. Wandering Lives climbed up the walls. The scaffolding was also broken and we were trapped in a side hole of Fort IV."
Khabarovsk	"How did you get inside the Wall?"
Bestyakh	"It was an ice mirror, I guess it was almost the same as the one seen by the Spetsgruppa Alfa in Baikal. There was precisely one spot of ice in Fort IV where we could enter through."
Tayshet	"There was no such thing on the first investigation. Very certain. Tayshet, remember it well."
Bestyakh	"There is something about it that I haven't told everyone about yet."
Bestyakh	"Just before I found that ice mirror, I heard a human voice. It was a young woman's voice. She was telling me to escape into the ice mirror."
Tayshet	"Did Khabarovsk and Yakutsk help you?"
Khabarovsk	"Nyet never no. We didn't do anything."
Yakutsk	"Me neither. I was out cold until Instructor Khabarovsk woke me up just a few minutes ago."
Tayshet	"That's strange, that no one but Bescha could hear it - was it the ghost of an Eisengradian soldier?"
Bestyakh	"Well, we don't need to figure out the identity of that voice for now. All we have to do is escape from this Wall first and foremost. Even as we speak, the Wandering Lives may be descending the wall and heading south."
Khabarovsk	"I would instead disagree to make our escape the primary goal. If that wish were granted right now, what do you think would happen to us? We would all be among the dead, all of us together."
Bestyakh	"Ah..."
Khabarovsk	"We need to find out what is happening in Valentz. Fortunately, as we can see, we have more freedom of movement and fewer enemies inside the Wall, so we have a chance to complete our original task of investigating the Valentz Ice Walls."
Conductor	I agree with Khabarovsk. While the army of the dead crawling on the ice walls is a concern, we can't overlook this highly magical 'steel fortress'.
Khabarovsk	"Not surprising from you, Conductor. You have sensed the magic from this steel."
Conductor	The objects here are beyond our comprehension. We can at least be sure it's technology that's not in modern Iris Cloud. It's like railway rails.
Conductor	-- And very similar to that thorny forest surrounding the Steel Tree.
Yakutsk	"We were just talking about that earlier together. The steel here repels magic. And as for that stupid big lift, I don't even know how it works."
Yoshino	"So that's why Yakky-tan was waiting for Yoshino, right?"
Yakutsk	"Huh?"
Yoshino	"Or is what's said wrong?"
Yakutsk	"No, well... You're not far off..."
Khabarovsk	"Yoshino, how do you see this, do you think it was a secret fortress built by the Eisengrad Army?"
Yoshino	"Of course not. If that's true, Eisengrad must have developed superweapons far beyond Mist Train's technology."
Khabarovsk	"And why do you think so...?"
Yoshino	"You can see it in this lift room. To operate such a large lift with such a simple mechanism, you need a mist core that has absorbed an extraordinarily large amount of magical energy. It's impossible with just mist stones."
Yoshino	"And this lift has no device to use such magical energies of a mist core. There is also no device to amplify it. How it is operated is a complete mystery."

Khabarovsk	"I agree. She's just been spotted by a researcher from the Central Army."

Yoshino	"Much apologies. Tears are going to flow from them big ears."
Conductor	What Yoshino said is likely right, we should also consider the possibility of it being an 'illusion'. Both Ouvrage Schoenenbourg and Repulse disappeared completely once we removed the source.
Conductor	However I think this one is a little different. It looks too much like the thorns of the Steel Tree. Not only in appearance, but the way it feels... The magic is very similar.
Yoshino	"Ooooh-, only Shashou can understand unknown magical energy, Yoshino doesn't sense that much."
Vivienne	"I understand that this steel seems to repel magic, but there's nothing more tingly than feeling magic."
Yakutsk	"......"
Yakutsk	"If an iron injection's applied onto that device, the lift might be able to be activated."
Queensway	"How can you operate such a machine without a mist core and a reactor? Isn't it because of these two things that Sir Conductor can run the Mist Train?"
Yakutsk	"Yoshino, your thoughts?"
Yoshino	"Queensway is not wrong. But it would be a different story if the power source was from 'tokushu na maryoku'."
Vivienne	"What do you mean? Isn't the power source of the Mist Train also from Conductor's magical power?"
Yoshino	"Not Kougyoukei, but Mikomikokei that comes into play. That's what it means, okusan."
Paddington	"That means! It's my turn to debut!"
Yakutsk	"Nyet. She meant that it's Conductor's turn."
Bestyakh	"The Mist Train is amplified by the power of the mist core and mist stones. It doesn't run on the Conductor's magical power 'alone'."
Bestyakh	"However, the traps and altars in such ancient ruins do not require the power of mist stones, and as Miss Yoshino tried to say, many of them can be made to release their power with 'special magical powers'."
Bestyakh	"It's worth a try. Only Conductor could sense the magical energy from the steel around here. Perhaps Conductor can manipulate it."
Conductor	Indeed, ancient ruins and mechanical parts can be fuelled by magic itself. It may be possible to disarm a trap or activate a contraption.
Conductor	But at the same time, traps could be triggered or Mist could be generated. Applying strong magical energy into an unknown object is risky.
Yakutsk	"We know that, that's why we are here."
Bestyakh	"Dearest sister..."
Yakutsk	"Yer the key to saving this world. Opening closed doors and treasure chests is part of your job. You're in contact with the unknown, so it's a risk you have to take."
Yakutsk	"And we are here to reduce such risks."
Yakutsk	"We have been very careful in getting here. As a result, we are standing here without anyone missing. We haven't won yet. We can't just walk away without doing anything."
Khabarovsk	"Fortunately, this lift is now for 'ascending'. You see the scaffolding right next to the device? It doesn't look like something is going to suddenly come down from above."
Conductor	Surely, the conditions couldn't be better. Given the circumstances, it would be more to our merit if we could get the lift working.
Conductor	Let's give it a go. We're going to touch this sooner or later eventually. To solve the mystery of the Steel Tree, we cannot avoid these magical steel.
Khabarovsk	"That sphere is suspicious. It most certainly absorbs magic it seems. You should try to imbue it as hard as you can."
As Khabarovsk suggested, I approached the mysterious sphere at the centre of the device. Unlike the celestial sphere in the Ruins of Thunder, this one is considerably smaller. Can such a small device really generate enough power to move that huge lift?
Vivienne	"The device is reacting."
Yoshino	"Un. The force is getting bigger and bigger. Yoshino can feel the magic too."
When I stood in the centre of the device, the sphere showed a strong reaction to my magical power. It seems to be absorbing magic power, albeit little by little.
But what surprised me even more was the amount of power this sphere was emitting. Compared to the amount of magic power absorbed, the power generated is tens or hundreds of times greater. The large lift is supplied with magic power and began to glow with a red light.
Bestyakh	"The biggest gear has moved. Soon the lifts will be operational."
Khabarovsk	"Success. Everyone get on the lift immediately!"
Khabarovsk	"Get out of there, Conductor. A rather large contraption has been set in motion. There's no need to inject any more magic into it."
Putra	"What the!? What's that noise!? An alarm!?"
--Confirm main lift initialization. --Crews to be in position immediately.
--Power fill rate reached 100 per cent. -- Stronger-than-expected force detected. -- Occupants should fasten their safety belts and prepare for shocks.
Yoshino	"Parts of the vehicle are screaming."
Vivienne	"What's with the power fill rate reaching 100 per cent? We're clearly over capacity! Can we really be able to get to the top?"
Yoshino	"It could take off to the skies past the Wall. It's possible."
Putra	"Hey Vivienne, I just realised something amazing."
Vivienne	"What now? I'm not going to take you seriously if it's something stupid, capiche?"
Putra	"There are NO SAFETY BELTS ANYWHERE!"
Vivienne	"Na..."
Vivienne	"A-anyway, grab onto that railing. I'll grab on to Yoshino."
--Initializing countdown. --10, 9, 8, 7. ......
The countdown began as everyone boarded the giant lift. In the meantime, the magical power supply to the lift did not stop, and red lights travelled beyond the lifts, through the distant stairs and inner walls, turning everything inside the Wall bright red.
Finally, the count reached zero.
--Ascent begins.
Putra	"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--HH!"
Conductor	The giant lift inside the Valentz Ice Walls began to ascend rapidly at very high speed with all of us on board...
