After that... We spent a lot of time exploring the spooky old castle, but with little success.
This was due to the fact that the floor and other parts of the castle had collapsed here and there, so it was difficult to advance, and we had to deal with an inexhaustible flow of monsters, so it took a long time just to walk around.
Yakutsk	"......"
Moreover, Yakutsk looks to be in a very bad state. She made a series of rather unbelievable mistakes, her usual calmness and excellence seemed to have disappeared.
She got startled and swung her whip towards some noises, which destroyed the scaffolding and caused her to fall a floor below. She kept losing her balance and tripped because she was trembling while walking. She would complain of feeling sick after just a few steps, as if she was walking in a poisonous swamp, and would crouch down with her hands over her head...
Yakutsk	"...Sniff."
Most apparent of all, is that she's a serious person, and she could not forgive herself for such disgraceful behaviors.
She kept questioned and blamed herself, and finally stopped moving due to exhaustion and stress. Tearful, she clutched her knees and hung down, muttering curses.
--It seemed she has reached the end of her rope.
Murmansk	"Ah, Sir [Conductor]... There doesn't seem to be any [Monsters] in this [Room], so let's have a little [Break]."
Murmansk said so with concern, found a fireplace in the room, and deftly lit it.
It's probably already midnight - Even indoors, Eisengradian nights are bitterly cold, and it is easy to forget that this is a building inside a crevice through the mass of ice. Everything around me is ice and it's freezing cold, so I'm grateful for the heat from the fireplace.
Murmansk	"Don't be afraid, lady. It's okay, everyone has their bad [Days] from time to time♪"
Instead of Yakutsk, who had become 'useless' in the worst sense of the word, Murmansk is doing a great job in all aspects of our company, spoke words of comfort to her.
However, being encouraged by a girl who is smaller than her and doesn't look much like a soldier would be unbearable for the prideful Yakutsk.
No longer caring about shame or embarrassment, Yakutsk cried, just like an ordinary little girl that's honest to her appearance.
Murmansk	"Woah... Wh-What am I going to do? Did I say something [Wrong]?"
Murmansk	"Alright. I'll go and get some [Meat] around her. [Babushka] said... that people get [Hungry] when they are sad."
Murmansk	"I'm also going to [Explore] the area. I [Excel] at that, as I do a lot of [Scouting]."
In fact, she is an excellent scout who can disappear like a ghost. She is also skilled in survival techniques, having lived on her own in a hellish environment for a long time.
She is extremely reliable in these situations. She may look lovely, like an angel or a fairy, but she is also an excellent member of the Special Steel Guard.
Murmansk	"Leave it to me. I will protect you all. You have all shielded me when I was treated as a [Freak] and a [Monster] - I want to [Repay] the favour."
Yakutsk	"Uhh - Freak? A monster...?"
Yakutsk asked in response to her disturbing words, but by the time she did — Murmansk had bravely dashed out of the room.

Yakutsk	"......I see."
While warming up by the fireplace, Yakutsk seemed to want to know the story -- so I explained about Murmansk to her as best I knew how.
Keeping quiet will only make depression worse, and talking raises our body temperatures, so I killed two birds with one stone.
Yakutsk	"That girl - Murmansk, has a rare genetic disease called Aurora Syndrome. So if she don't constantly chew on raw meat, her flesh will become more and more transparent--"
Conductor	It seems that it's less so raw meat, rather the 'life force energy' contained inside them. Her whole tribe was feared and persecuted as monsters and were driven out of the countryside a long time ago.
Yakutsk	"The Baba Yaga. I've heard of them, and they were certainly depicted as cruel and terrifying monsters in picture books and the like..."
Yakutsk	"Every child born and raised in Eisengrad is scared with that story at least once by their parents: 'If you misbehave, the Baba Yaga will eat you!' I was always scared of that too, since I was a little kid."
Yakutsk	"But she's a human being. She's not doing anything wrong, she only just got an unusual genetic disorder. No, even if she was a monster, she cared about me when I was ruined and spoke to me kindly - she's a good girl."
Yakutsk	"And yet. To be persecuted and driven out of town, that's terrible."
Conductor	This was a long time ago, when there was so much prejudice, when people didn't yet know the difference between illness and bizarre phenomena. Of course, no matter what the circumstances - such discrimination should never be tolerated.
Conductor	Yakutsk. The Eisengradian Army, to whom you swore allegiance to, found her in such pitiful circumstances -- and protected her, the last survivor of the Baba Yaga. They gave her warm food and shelter.
Conductor	So Murmansk, feeling indebted to them, became a member of the Military, and eventually became a member of the SSS.
Yakutsk	"Everyone has their very own past... She's such a little girl, but she's got so much to deal with already."
Yakutsk	"I don't know what am I even doing... A child who has been persecuted like that, who can only be happy in the future and who is finally making ends meet, is desperately trying to repay the favor for her country."
Yakutsk	"I haven't done anything, all you do is drag my feet... I'm always acting like I'm so high and mighty, I'm ashamed of myself."
Yakutsk	"I was supposed to be better than this. I studied a lot, I trained a lot, I was the best in the military school..."
Conductor	...Take some time off, Yakutsk. Don't be too hard on yourself, we all have days like this.
Yakutsk	"Mhm..."
I gently held Yakutsk's hand, because when I was down, she did that for me.
Yakutsk	"...Thank you, Conductor. I've calmed down a bit. This is no time for weakness, I know."
Yakutsk	"But I'm really at my limit... Suddenly, I feel really sleepy--"
She was about to say something, when suddenly, like a puppet with broken strings, she collapsed on the spot. She fell to the floor without even taking a passive stance, and stopped moving. She doesn't look like she fell asleep, this is--
Conductor	What's wrong, Yakutsk? Did you pass out? Are you all right!?
Yakutsk	"........."
No response. I shuddered and was worried, hoping she was not dead, and tried to take Yakutsk's pulse--
The next moment, from the depths of darkness, countless 'thread-like things' crawled up to me!
