The Machine Soldiers suddenly appeared in the village that had been destroyed by the Steel Tree. They attacked us, showing coordination almost as if they were human.
However, the attack was only done by a few of them. They were not 'company-sized' as Pittsburgh described, so our current force was sufficient to subdue them.
--The problem was that large-class Mechanical Soldier that attacked us initially.
???	"...GIGIGIGI."
Vivienne	"Just this big one left."
Putra	"Huh, is it me or this one feels more calmer than before?"
Vivienne	"Huh, I noticed that too. Is it distressed now that it's alone?"
Yoshino	"Machines do not have mental fatigue. Though they do have metal fatigue." (Original=機械に焦りも油断もないよ。油はあるかもしれないけれど。Yoshino made a wordplay using 油断(emotional stress) and 油(oil).)
Vivienne	"Then why did it suddenly become calmer? Wouldn't a machine attack mindlessly like it did the first time?"
Yoshino	"We won't know until we take it apart. Let's see... it's possible that its puroguramu can alter its foumeishion depending on the combat jyoukyou?"
Vivienne	"I have no idea what you're talking about. Putra, what do you think?"

Detroit	"It becomes more docile at a distance. Likely it's a machine made for close quarters combat."

As Detroit charged in, we take up a covering position. The large Machine Soldier still did nothing, merely staring at us.
Detroit's was almost correct on her reading of its pattern of attacks and the way it fought depended on the distance between them and the opponent.
However, Detroit was so preoccupied that her opponent was a machine that she neglected the fact that it was also a 'soldier' that can fight according to the situation.

Detroit	"WHAT THE!?"
Fayette	"DETROIT!"
Detroit leapt through the air, trying to get behind her enemy and exploit its blind spot. However, her aim was thwarted in a completely unexpected way.
The Machine Soldier's attack is instant. Just before Fayette's covering fire, just as Detroit changed course to leap, the machine closed in onto Detroit with frightening speed and attacked.
Detroit appeared to narrowly dodge its attack, but the Machine Soldier's first strike was a feint. Detroit evaded the attack, but the Machine Soldier's deadly hands were waiting for her.
Detroit was grabbed by the machine soldier's hand and lifted up. The situation is quite bad, although she is protecting her vital points, she cannot free her upper body.

Fayette	"Detroit! Hang on! Keep it right there! Save your neck!"
Detroit	"Just shoot it and don't care about me! Eyes or chest! There's a power unit in the chest area. It's a mist stone!"
Fayette	"Even if you tell me that I can't see it from here."
Pittsburgh	"Fayette, shoot on the right knee right now."
Fayette	"Pittsburgh?"
Pittsburgh	"JUST DO IT!"
Fayette	"Affirmative!"
Pittsburgh, who had been standing next to Fayette for some time, ignored Detroit and ordered an attack on the lower half of her body instead. Fayette did as Pittsburgh said and shot a magic-laden bullet into the Machine Soldier's right knee.

Fayette	"Hit. Good shot."
Pittsburgh	"It was bending its knees and trying to jump up, I think its trying to take Detroit somewhere."

Pittsburgh	"Same place again."
Two gunshots by Fayette. In response, the humanoid Machine Soldier was severely off balance.

Fayette	"Aye."
Fayette fired again. She aimed at the spot indicated by Pittsburgh. The shot lands true.
The Machine Soldier was thrown off balance by the first attack and, just as Pittsburgh had read, it twisted its body into an attack position. However, the anticipatory shots sent the Machine Soldier sprawling even further and it loosens its grip on Detroit.
Naturally, Detroit would not miss the opportunity.
Detroit	"You're a sucker after all. Eat this!" ?

Detroit	"Rearguard! Follow up!"
Vivienne	"Affirmative!"
Yoshino	"Besto taimingu."
Detroit attacked the Machine Soldier's eyes without hesitation. Then, in the blink of an eye, she moved out of sight of the Machine Soldiers and went behind its back. At the same time, attacks by Fayette, Vivienne and Yoshino were unleashed.
Detroit	"You're not going anywhere."
???	"Gigigi..."
Detroit	"Effective, yeah? You thought you wouldn't lose in close quarters?" ?

Detroit	"Huh? It's quiet again."

Fayette	"DETROIT! GET BACK HERE NOW!"

Fayette	"GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW! DON'T ATTACK IT!"
Just as Detroit prepared for her final blow, Fayette shouted her to "Get back".
Unconvinced, Detroit was momentarily confused, but stopped attacking when she realised that Fayette was serious.

The Machine Soldier, who had grown quiet, suddenly swung its arm at Detroit's throat.
Queensway	"It was aiming for a counter attack. It's too good a fighter for a machine."

Yakutsk	"Look! The Machine Soldier is running away!"
Detroit	"Damn it, I'm not letting it get away here!"
Fayette	"Do not pursue!"
Detroit	"What are you on about!? If it flees, there's no next time!"
Fayette	"What the Hell do you mean by 'no next time'? You already lost twice, Detroit!"
Detroit	"......ugh."
Fayette	"If it wasn't for the support of your allies, you would have been screwed. They have a lot of variations in their attacks and enough brains to hide them. And what's most annoying is that they understand human language."
