We are riding in a pumpkin-like carriage with on a snow-covered road to the castle. This feels like a scene out of a fairytale -- However, we're going to a mission, not to a nice ball.
Murmansk	Mmm-hmmhmm♪ Going out, going out... so happy♪ Together with [Conductor], going out... Mmm-hmmhmm♪
But Murmansk, my only companion on this mission and member of the Special Steel Squad, is in an unusually good mood. Inside the covered, magically warmed carriage, she was waving her legs as she looked out through the window at the scenery outside.
She has a peculiar disease that causes her to slowly fade away unless she constantly gnaws on raw meat, but she seems to be enjoying herself so much that she forgot about her condition - her dainty toes slowly becoming transparent.
Murmansk	"Ehehe. It's a [Tranquil] place, it's [Peaceful]... I heard it's [Miss Fussen]'s [Territory], so I imagined the place to be a [Glittering] [Big City]."
Conductor	Yes, our destination this time is Fussen's territory, she's a member of the Special Iron Guard and a member of the Eisengrad nobility. To be precise, we're heading out to her castle and we will stay there until our mission .
Murmansk	"Sleepover, sleepover♪ Together with [Conductor], sleepover...♪"
Conductor	This is not a fun sleepover, it's still a mission we're assigned to, so don't get too carried away.
Murmansk	"Yes! Under~stood, Sir [Conductor]! I'm the only [Train Knight] now, so I have to stay [Firm] or it's [Useless], right?"
Murmansk	"Don't worry! I'll promise to protect you, I'll take care of [Conductor]! Mhm mhm!"
Hardening her lovely face as best she can, Murmansk sat upright with her back straight. She was being too enthusiastic and she should be more natural, I was just about to reproach her when--
Murmansk	"...Huh?"
Murmansk also recognized a familiar figure outside the window. Some distance away from the carriage - Volklingen, a member of the Special Steel Squad, ploughed the soil with a hoe in a field where snow still remains.
Volklingen	"......"
Murmansk	"Hey, isn't that Miss [Volklingen]? Is [Volklingen] going to participate in this [Mission] too?"
Conductor	No, I haven't heard anything about that.
Volklingen had been in and out of the Oshioki Prison, a facility that incarcerates members who have military misconducts. It was difficult to have her participate in expeditionary missions, which tended to last for long periods of time, and we hadn't been working together much as of late.
But we are not strangers, and I was curious as to why she was here - I stopped the semi-automatic carriage, opened up the window and called out to her loudly.
Volklingen	"...Gweagh!?"
Volklingen looked around, and frowned once she noticed us. While walking towards us, the woman went along with her typical sneers.
Volklingen	"Just what the Hell are you doing here, Conductor? Hah, you're here to ridicule me aren't ya, miserable wretch? I'm amazed, the Conductor of the SSS has so much time on his hands when he should be busy saving the world!"
Murmansk	"Ehehheh, Miss [Fussen] gave us an [Invitation] to come and do a [Mission]."
Volklingen	"Schwester Fussen? Oh~... so that's what it is, and I was wondering, why is that idiot so cheerful today?"
Volklingen	"Hmph. This mission is just an excuse anyway, Schwester likes this little brat... I'm sure she's made up some reason to call you up and have a friendly tea party or something."
Conductor	As a matter of fact, our client, Fussen, is very fond of Murmansk. She even specifically requested only Murmansk to participate - and I had a feeling that Volklingen's guess was not far off the mark.
Volklingen	"Hah! Jealous of my elegance? Even when I'm made to work in these crappy fields under the cold weather by Schwester's orders?"
Volklingen	"So, you little brat... how did you get on your Schwester's good side? If you have a secret, I'm definitely all ears... You must have sneaked into her bed and seduced her with your little tricks, didn't you?"
Murmansk	"Mwah, I'm not [Brat], I'm [Murmansk]. Also, I don't really understand why Miss [Fussen] likes me, either, I'm not sure--"
Murmansk	"--Hyah, fyah!?"
Volklingen	"Conductor! Get back in the carriage!"
The two women, who seem be similar Eisengrad acquaintances and were conversing in a surprisingly friendly manner - until both simultaneously became serious and braced themselves. I followed their gazes and caught my breath when I realised something was wrong.
Monster	"Mooooo, mooooooo!"
A swarm of strange monsters is marching towards us, making cow-like noises. All of them have huge, hairy, and hulking bodies. While humanoid in shape - their limbs are abnormally large and the magical power they possess is also incredible.
Volklingen	"They are demihuman beings that live in the snowy mountains, in other words, they are a type of monster - they're called Yetis over here. They usually don't come out of the mountains, but for some reason, recently they've been coming down to human settlements, destroying buildings and ruining fields."
Volklingen	"Thanks to them, it seems like the local people are terrified of them... And because no one is doing any work in the fields or anything, Schwester calls me out and makes me work in the soil."
Conductor	Fussen's request to us may also have something to do with this. Was the request not just a pretext to call Murmansk out, or was there really real harm and trouble?--
Yeti	"Mooooooooo!"
Volklingen	"Gah, they spotted us and rushed towards us! Put your fancy hypothesis aside, Conductor, and get into the carriage! The brat should get out there and fight them with me, don't make me do all the work all the time!"
Murmansk	"Yeah! Defeating bad [Monsters] that terrify everyone - That's our job as the [SSS]!"
With her weapon in hand, a sniper rifle, Murmansk leapt out of the carriage window as light as a fairy. At the same time, the monster hordes were deadly, their ferocious roars resounding.
Thus -- The battle has begun against the Yetis, pest-like monsters that ravage fields.
