In the western part of Verforet, the Country of Deep Green and Magic, there is a place that has been described as the most beautiful forest in the world.
It is here ―― Brocéliande. Vivienne's birthplace.
The eastern side is called the Fairy Forest. The western side is called the Lost Forest. This forest, which has a completely different appearance in the east and the west, has been the subject of many fairy tales since time immemorial.
Paddington	"Especially in the east, there are many stories about the Elven Queen and the Fairy King. There is even a legend that the Verforench elves and humans can work magic in the same way thanks to the blessing of the Fairy King."
Paddington	"The details of the fairies' powers are still unknown, but there are many researchers who argue that Verforet's magic will not disappear even if miststones disappears from this world."
Putra	"However, the prevailing theory is that the magic from Verforet's miststones are different in nature from that of other countries."

Putra	"Course, my mum was an active miner and she digs for natural miststones in Flamarine back in the day. She could never stop talking about miststones and magic～"
Putra	"I remember she told me a lot of stories about Brocéliande Forest, and she used to tell me that if I met a fairy in Brocéliande, I should learn from them the magic they used."
Paddington	"Fairy magic is said to be very powerful. If you're going to see one in person, it's better to have safe magic."
Paddington	"For example, they could put up a house of sweets!"
Putra	"It's possible! It's possible, with the fairies of Brocéliande!"
Putra	"Beautiful forests! Clean air and tasty spring water! If you're lucky, you might even meet a fairy! Come once to the best forest in the world! But only on the east side!"
Putra	"But I never thought that Brocéliande would be like this..."
Vivienne	"Brocéliande has never had such a big Phantom Mist before. We should go to the west too."
Yakutsk	"We will be lacking in fighting streangth if we simply jump into the Lost Forest. In fact, we might even get lost and drag our feet."
Vivienne	"We'll be fine if we follow the Forestiers. They know the West Forest very well, we can ask them to accompany us."
Yakutsk	"The further west we go, the less protection we will have from the east."
Vivienne	"The Gendarmerie is setting up a line of defence. It's the west that needs reinforcements, don't you see?"
Yakutsk	"The Gendarmerie defending the east are all recruits and apprentices, aren't they?"
Vivienne	"Even though they are new recruits, they are still Verforet's Gendarmerie. They're fully equipped to fight in the forest. Not just a bunch of lumberjacks with axes, you know?"
Queensway	"But they should also stay as far away from the border as possible..."

Conductor	I'm not surprised that Vivienne is so heated. Who would have thought that Brocéliande, a famous tourist destination, would be hit by a massive Phantom Mist?
Conductor	Brocéliande is completely different in the west and the east. The east side is protected by a strong ward and is a scenic area with many houses and facilities. No wonder it is called the Fairy Forest.
Conductor	On the other hand, the west side is the Lost Forest ―― A place that cannot be entered without permission from the Gendarmerie. Phantom Mist is not uncommon and there are few civilian dwellings. There are only guardhouses for guides called the Forestiers.
Paddington	"This time, the Phantom Mist is in the west, and the Verforet Gendarmerie has sent a lot of their main force to the Lost Forest."
Putra	"We, however, are standing by in the east, and Vivienne is not happy about that. I'd be like her too if I couldn't take part in the fight to protect my homeland."
Conductor	Vivienne has been like that ever since she came to Brocéliande. She wants to go to the West, where the fighting is fierce. Asked if they send just a few people? Etc.
Conductor	But it would be better to leave the fighting in the west to the Forestiers and the Gendarmerie. Conquering the Lost Forest, west of Brocéliande, will not be so easy. Vivienne	"The enemy through the forest in the west will almost certainly come to the east. The north and south are mountains. Unless it's a very unusual enemy, they'll go through the plains and cross this narrow border."

Bourse	"Hello. This is petit Vivi's Bourse.Just escaped from the Gendarmerie and was wandering in the forest in search of my loved one."
Yoshino	"Yoshino brought Bourse here. Caught sight of her while she was seen picking flowers."
Queensway	"Miss Bourse is a childhood friend of Miss Vivienne, right?"
Putra	"Mhm, she's often behind Vivienne's back."
Vivienne	"What's wrong Bourse? We were supposed to meet up tomorrow, weren't we? You're supposed to be off duty today."
Bourse	"Oui. Was preparing for tomorrow because of off duty, and then was called into the Gendarmerie station and asked to lead the operation."
Vivienne	"Bourse leading the operation?"
Vivienne	"Eh, Bourse is in charge of the operation?"
Bourse	"It's understandable why ma petite Vivi wants to say it twice. The Gendarmerie is crazy to let le Bourse lead the operation. How can they expect le Bourse to lead an operation when she can't even shout in front of everyone?"
Yakutsk	"So the east is not well-defended after all. We should go back to the eastern defence line in case something happens."
Bourse	"By the way, that doesn't seem to be the case."

Vivienne	"Hey? You all heard it, right? We should intercept enemies coming from the west."
Conductor	I agree with that, but let's not go as far as the Val Sans Retour.
Vivienne	"What? Why? The Val Sans Retour is just barely east of us, so it wouldn't be a violation of orders, would it?"
Bourse	"Besides, there are lots of good scouting spots in the Val Sans Retour. It would likely be a good place to explore what's going on to the west..."
Conductor	The SSS is also under orders to "stay as far away from the perimeter as possible". We don't want to suddenly be intercepted by enemies on the perimeter.
Conductor	Well, if the situation changes, we will consider going to the Val Sans Retour. Until then, we will stay here for a while to intercept the enemy.
Vivienne	"Mmh, if that's the way it is, then we have no choice. Though it's still better than going back to the eastern defence line."
