Trivia

• Udon Thani's birthday is the opening date of Udon Thani station in 1941. The date is also the Siamese revolution of 1932, a bloodless coup d'état by the Khana Ratsadon that ended the absolute monarchy of the Rattanakosin Kingdom under the Kings of Siam.
• Udon Thani's ancient being backstory is themed after Ban Chiang, a UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site in Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province, which contains a lot of Bronze Age jars and containers.
• Udon Thani had no knowledge of modern language, but as a quick learner she managed to mimic and quickly understand a simple form of the language some time after her release from stasis, in English, her language is a bit broken with grammatical errors.
• The water lilies in the background of [Like a Water Lily] is a reference to the Nong Han Kumphawapi Lake (หนองหานกุมภวาปี), also known as the Red Lotus Sea (ทะเลบัวแดง), located in the Kumphawapi district, in Udon Thani province.

Udon Thani railway station (สถานีอุดรธานี) is a railway station located in Mak Khaeng Sub-district, Mueang Udon Thani District, Udon Thani Province. It is a class 1 railway station located 568.843 km (353.5 mi) from Bangkok railway station. The station opened in June 24, 1941, as part of the Northeastern Line Khon Kaen–Udon Thani section. In September 1955, the line extended to Na Tha railway station (at the time Nong Khai main station).

Nong Han Kumphawapi (Thai: หนองหานกุมภวาปี], often just Nong Han) is a lake in northeast Thailand, north of the town of Kumphawapi, Kumphawapi District, Udon Thani Province. The lake is shallow, mostly not exceeding a depth of one meter. The open water area of 1.7 km2 is surrounded by a wetland covering 4.1 km2, including paddy fields. Known more as the Red Lotus Sea, it is the main attraction of Udon Thani, or "Talay Bua Daeng" in Thai. Called “Nong-Han or Han” from the original swamp that was created by nature. The Red Lotus Sea located at Kumphawapi district of Udon Thani province and can be seen along the Mittraphap Road between Udon Thani and Khon Kaen. The swamp consists of aquatic plants, birds, and fish. In the winter season, red lotus (water lilies) bloom in the quantity of millions, which cover a large part of the lake. The bloom time of the flowers varies according to the weather.

The flowers bloom on colder temperatures, and close up in the heat of the day. The Red Lotus Sea Festival, is also held each year in the middle of January at the temple of Wat Bandiem, situated next to the lake. The pink buds begin to bloom at the end of the rainy season, reaching their peak in January and February. Some flowers remain open through March, but then from March to around October, the lake is devoid of the pink-red colours.
