Trivia

  • Jeran's beast motif is the Malayan tiger, native to Peninsular Malaysia. The Malayan tiger is the national animal of Malaysia. Two tigers are depicted as supporters in the coat of arms of Malaysia and the coat of arms of Johor.
  • Jeran's birth parents are unknown, but her foster mother is a tigress, who was killed by poachers. The Malayan tiger has been classified as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List since 2015, estimated at 80 to 120 mature individuals with a continuous declining trend.
  • Jeran's design is based off Taman Negara and the Jerantut railway station in Pahang, Malaysia, as part of the "Jungle Railway" opened in 1910.
  • Jeran's dislike of lions (Sentosa) is a reference to the friendly rivalry between netizens of Malaysia and Singapore. Ironically, Taman Sentosa is also a residential area inside the Jerantut district, and Sentosa is visible in [Even a Wild Child Can be Cute].
  • Hibiscus can be seen in the outfit of [Calling Oneself the Strongest]. The hibiscus flower is the national flower of Malaysia.
  • It is later revealed in the story scenarios of [Even a Wild Child Can be Cute] that Jeran's real parents are from the Tōdō family of Nishiki. This is a subtle reference to a real life Japanese daimyo named Tōdō Takatora (藤堂 高虎). Takatora means "Top Tiger" in Japanese.

Jerantut station entrance.

Jerantut railway station (Stesen Keretapi Jerantut), also known as 'Jungle Station', is a Malaysian train station stationed at and named after the town of Jerantut, Pahang. Jerantut station is one of the major stations of KTM's East Coast Line. KTM intercity and express trains stop at this station.

Jerantut is major town centered in the state of Pahang. The station is operated by KTM Berhad (KTMB), providing only KTM Intercity trains. KTM Intercity connects Jerantut Railway Station along the route between Johor Bahru Sentral in Johor and Tumpat in Kelantan. There is a daily intercity sleeper train that travels with a stop at Jerantut Railway Station from Johor Bahru Sentral to Tumpat, and three daily local trains which travel about three quarters of the length of the line. Jerantut Railway Station is situated only 2.5 kilometres away from Taman Negara, where travellers can alight at the train station in Jerantut and grab a taxi or a car-sharing ride to visit the Taman Negara's rainforests easily. Jerantut station platform.

The Jungle Railway is 526 km long and runs between Gemas on the Butterworth-Kuala Lumpur-Singapore trunk line, and Tumpat in the northeastern part of Peninsular Malaysia. It passes through the states of Negeri Sembilan, Pahang and Kelantan. Despite it being called the East Coast Line, it only goes near the coast at its terminus in Tumpat: It goes through the center of Peninsular Malaysia.

There are no large cities along its route. Most stations are in remote, jungle-surrounded villages and many stops are nothing more than a platform in the middle of the jungle. The bigger towns along the line are Mentakab (on the Kuala Lumpur-Kuantan main road), Jerantut, Kuala Lipis (former capital of Pahang state), Gua Musang and Kuala Krai. The first section of the Jungle Railway opened in 1910, and the 526 km route was completed in 1931.

The East Coast line was developed a little later than the West Coast train line, as there was not as much economic activity in the East Coast states. The construction of the line was an engineering breakthrough of its era, considering the terrain and thick jungle. About 240 km of track was removed by the Japanese during the Second World War and used in the construction of the Death Railway between Thailand and Myanmar. It was replaced after the war. Taman Negara.

Taman Negara is a national park in Peninsular Malaysia. It was established in 1938/1939 as the King George V National Park after Theodore Hubback lobbied the sultans of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan to set aside a piece of land that covers the three states for the creation of a protected area. After independence, it was renamed Taman Negara, which means "national park" in Malay. Taman Negara has a total area of 4,343 km2 and it is one of the world's oldest deciduous rainforests, estimated to be more than 130 million years old.

The park encompasses three states, Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu, each with its own legislation. The Taman Negara Enactment (Pahang) No. 2 of 1939 is enforced in the state of Pahang, the Taman Negara Enactment (Kelantan) No. 14 of 1938 in the state of Kelantan and the Taman Negara Enactment (Terengganu) No. 6 of 1939 in the state of Terengganu. The enactments have similar contents. Taman Negara Pahang is the largest at 2,477 km2, followed by Taman Negara Kelantan at 1,043 km2 and Taman Negara Terengganu at 853 km2. At an estimated age of more than 130 million years old, it is reputed to be the "oldest tropical rainforest", although the title more accurately belongs to the Daintree Rainforest in Queensland, Australia, estimated to be between 135 million years old and 180 million years old.

Taman Negara is mostly located on ancient, sedimentary rocks and the oldest part of the continent, it features mostly gentle rolling hills where about 57% of the total land area of the park are located below 300m above sea level due to a long time erosion. Despite that, it also features some mountainous parts of the Tahan Range, a subrange of the Tenasserim Hills. The Tahan Range is home to Mount Tahan, the highest and most prominent point in Peninsular Malaysia at about 2,187m above sea level. Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM)'s KTM Intercity and Express trains stop at Jerantut railway station. Visitors to Taman Negara can disembark here. Wikipedia
