Trivia
- Maki's birthday is the opening date of Maki Station in 1988.
- Maki's liking for salmon is a reference to the Maki River that flows through Fukuchiyama City. The Maki River is a tributary of the Yura River, and salmon is known to travel into the Yura River, close to this train station.
- Maki states that she is the guardian of Kijinga Castle (鬼人ヶ城) .This is a reference to the nearby Oniga Castle(鬼ヶ城)(in Tango). Tango's Onigajo is a mountain where in Japanese mythos, Ibaraki Doji, a retainer of Shuten Doji, is said to have holed up.
- The building in the background of [Crimson-Clad Kijin Lady] resembles the Fukuchiyama Castle, one of the landmarks close to Maki station, Kyoto.
- Maki's Nishikese doll appears to resemble her mentor, Shimoamazu the First. Her liking of dolls is also similar to Yuuzen and Miyako, being inside the Kyoto prefecture famous for traditional Japanese dolls.

The station's nickname according to the Fukuchiyama City Railway Usage Promotion Council is 'Salmon Run Station'. The name derives from the fact that the Maki River, which is known for salmon coming upstream, is located near the station.
Maki station becomes a station on the Kyoto Tango Railway Miyafuku Line on 1 April, 2015 due to the transfer to Willer Trains. The station consists of two opposed side platforms on an embankment. The station is unattended. The use of wye switches charges passing trains the speed limit of 40 km/h. Departures and arrivals are not on one line through, but in different directions. Flush toilets are available in front of the station.
There is no station building except for shelters on the platforms. The area around the station is covered with large fields. A national road runs along the west side of the station, from which side roads lead to houses in places. The Miyafuku Line intersects the national road on the north side of the station. Wikipedia
Fukuchiyama Castle (福知山城, Fukuchiyama-jō) is a castle located in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It was originally built and ruled by the Yokoyama family. The territory in modern times was laid out by Mitsuhide Akechi. After seizing the Kinai region, Oda Nobunaga ordered Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Akechi Mitsuhide to attack China. Toyotomi Hideyoshi marched from the Sanyo Road, while Akechi Mitsuhide entered from the San'in Road. Akechi Mitsuhide, who had pacified Tamba Province, built the castle and made his daughter-in-law Akechi Hidemitsu the lord of the castle.
Today, the castle is maintained as Fukuchiyama Castle Park, and the castle keep, a three-storey main keep and a two-storey small keep, were restored in 1986. It is a facility of the Fukuchiyama Municipal Museum of Local History. In addition, the Fukuchiyama Railway Museum Poppoland is to be relocated and maintained in the Fukuchiyama Castle Park Waterfront Plaza in early summer 2023. At the entrance to the park is the Fukuchiyama City Taikiyo Sato Memorial Museum of Art in the style of a corner turret-style castle architecture.
Located at the tip of a hill protruding from the centre of the Fukuchiyama Basin overlooking the city, the castle is also known as Garyu Castle due to its topographical features. The Yura River, which flows from east to west, forms a natural moat, and the castle was built on a plateau 40 m above sea level, where it meets the Doji River to the north, and offers a good view. The cliffs to the east, north and west make it a strategic location. The castle can be seen from National Route 9 or from inside a JR Fukuchiyama Line train, and is lit up at night. Many cherry trees have been planted around the castle.
In 1986, the tenshu, or keep, of Fukuchiyama Castle was re-built following a spirited campaign by residents of the city of Fukuchiyama. It now serves as a local history museum. Also, a well named Toyoiwa-no-I is located in the castle, and is the deepest well of any castle in Japan. Many original stone walls still stand. The Castle was listed as one of the Continued Top 100 Japanese Castles in 2017. Wikipedia
