Hello, I'm Tokachi. I grew up in a huuuuge, wide open field, so I'm pretty carefree, I think. I can use some magic and I guess I'm good at manual labor? Not the biggest fan of fighting, but I don't hate it. You can count on me!

Trivia

  • Tokachi's birthday is the opening date of Shimizu station in the year 1907, before the name change to Tokachi-Shimizu station in 16 June, 1926.
  • Tokachi's beast motif is the Holstein Friesian cattle. The region of Shimizu around Tokachi-Shimizu station is famous for its Holstein milk, as well as Wagyu beef, both considered luxurious delicacies.

  • The etymology of Tokachi is taken from the Ainu word "Tokapu Ushii" (where the breast is located), which is because the mouth of the Tokachi River is divided into two and the flow is abundant, so the milk is endless, describing an overflowing river.
  • Tokachi is first introduced in New Years Day of 2021 in DMM, as a representative of the Year of the Ox/Cow.
  • The building in the background of [Welcoming the New Year] features Tokachi-Shimizu Station, part of Tokachi's thematic.

Tokachi Shimizu station entrance.

Tokachi-Shimizu Station (十勝清水駅), formerly Shimizu station, is a railway station in Shimizu, Hokkaido, Japan under Hokkaido JR Service Net. The name of the station is taken from the town name of Shimizu. Prior to the name change of Ejiri Station on the Tokaido Main Line to Shimizu Station on December 1, 1934, the old name "Tokachi" was given on November 20 of the same year. After the abolition of Tokachi-Mitsumata Station on the Shihoro Line on March 23, 1987, it is the only station bearing the name "Tokachi".

The station is an above-ground station, with an island-type platform and two lines. The station building is located on the east side of the station. The Midori-no-Madoguchi (green ticket counter) is located at the station, which is outsourced to Hokkaido J.R. Service Net.

There used to be a cargo platform on the south side of the station building, a warehouse in JA Tokachi-Shimizu sub-prefecture on the south side of the station, on the west side of the Nemuro Main Line, a Japanese Jinna Sugar Shimizu Factory on the east side of the main line, and a Hokuren Shimizu Sugar Factory on the north side of the station. The dedicated lines to were branched, but they were all abolished by November 1, 1986. Wikipedia

Shimizu (清水町) is a small town located at the base of the Hidaka Mountain Range in Tokachi Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. The name Shimizu is taken from the Ainu word "Pekerebetsu", which means bright clean river. As of 2011, the population of the town is 10,243, and its primary source of income is through agriculture. Shimizu, like many other towns in Hokkaido, is undergoing population decline.

Shimizu has roughly 440 farmers, and 14500 ha of farmland. Dairy farming, cattle farming, and sugar beet cultivation are some of the main types of agriculture that take place in Shimizu and the surrounding area. Livestock farming is popular at the foot of the Tokachi region, including Shimizu Town, and Japanese people may have seen dairy products such as milk and cheese with "Tokachi" written on the package.

Holstein Friesians (often shortened to Holsteins in North America, while the term Friesians is often used in the UK and Ireland) are a breed of dairy cattle that originated in the Dutch provinces of North Holland and Friesland, and Schleswig-Holstein in Northern Germany. They are known as the world's highest-producing dairy animals. Wikipedia
