Event Story

Taimanin Emergency Mission! Mist Train Defense Operations

The Taimanin characters appear to be from the RPGX timeline. The story starts with Conductor and Paddington cleaning up the Train while they're off duty, which was shortly interrupted when Yakutsk reported sightings of a Mist Monster in St. Iris that can disembowel humans into octopus tentacles. The Special Steel Squad (SSS) arrived to the scene later and they met Kotaro Fuuma and Hebiko Aishu taking out the reported Mist Monster instead. After some brief introductions, they explained that they were in the middle of a fight when all of them were sent to an otherworld, which is Iris Cloud, and got separated. Hebiko also explained that the tentacles they were talking about was her Ninja Art. Conductor then had Kotaro and Hebiko under St. Iris's protection. Kotaro then gave information for Conductor to search for the other members of the Independent Rangers - Kirara Onisaki, Rinko Akiyama and Yukikaze Mizuki, which was forwarded to all other countries. Both Kotaro and Hebiko are impressed that the Train Knight Academy is similar to Gosha Academy, meaning that they're quickly accustomed to it. After a few days, sightings of Yukikaze was reported in Nishiki, and the group headed over to pick her up via the Mist Train. Hebiko laughed at Yukikaze falling for a simple boar trap, but turned to surprise when she heard Yukikaze was fighting Shizuku Kuroki, because the Rangers were fighting him right before they were all transported to Iris Cloud. Both the SSS and the Taimanin were about to return to headquarters when they're intercepted by Shizuku, who was ready to kill Kotaro. Yakutsk and the Conductor calculated correctly that the Rangers had their backs on the wall now, when it took the entire group to fight him in their home world, so Yakutsk also joined the fight with Hebiko and Yukikaze. Hebiko managed to splash ink at Shizuku, but narrowly missed his attack that immediately crumbled a stone building. Shizuku retreated on foot, noting that he'll try again. The fight caused major damage to the Nishikese town. The group returned to HQ as the Nishiki Army handled the damages. Yukikaze informed that Shizuku was serving Nisha Gaiza, who opposes the Fuuma clan. Paddington then provided new intel that there were sightings of the sea being frozen in Flamarine. When they arrived, the SSS and Rangers engaged Mist Monsters with Kirara joining in. Kirara was under Acapulco's protection during her stay, and she served the Flamarine military in return. Shizuku then reappeared to fight the group, destroying even more buildings in the town and threatening to also destroy the train. The group is unable to deal with him, and thus was forced to flee the scene with the Mist Train before the worst happens. The group fled to the forests of Verforet for hours, Hebiko noted that the forest felt strange, and immediately they're attacked again by Shizuku when the Conductor wanted to stop for the night. Shizuku's attack against the train was stopped just in time by Rinko, who was trying to tail him since she was teleported to Iris Cloud. Once again the team quickly fled the scene and Shizuku disappeared into the shadows. Rinko only had a vague idea of what Shizuku's goals are, and everyone is still trying to figure out how Shizuku is able to keep up with the Mist Train so quickly in less than a few minutes since it stopped. By the time they escaped to Eisengrad, Conductor was exhausted from using his powers non-stop to keep the Train running, which Kotaro noticed and was slowly figuring out what Shizuku's plans are. On the other hand, Conductor and Yakutsk had a plan, and she was dispatched out into the tundra after the train stopped just temporarily. The train kept going, with the Independent Rangers worried over Conductor's stamina. Paddington then asked the Conductor to stop at a target location. Once again, Shizuku appeared, mocking the group that their attempts are futile and they don't have enough Taimanin to fight him at all. However, he was suddenly attacked by Volgo. While he barely dodged two of her sniper shots, one of them grazed his leg and injured him. Turns out Yakutsk requested a battalion of the Eisengrad Army to capture Shizuku, and he was ambushed and surrounded by guns. Shizuku took another gunshot but turned invisible and fled, leaving a trail of blood. Kotaro correctly deduced that Kuroki is hiding inside the Mist Train together with them all this time, explaining how he can attack so quickly. Paddington is confused with Kotaro's deduction, because Shizuku could have easily just finished them off one by one then take over the train. Kotaro explained that the reason is because he wants the train's power source, not the train, and he hasn't found it yet. His deduction is correct, because Shizuku expected the train to run out of fuel sooner or later and has to refuel, which will be his chance. Shizuku has heard of how powerful the energy source of the Mist Train is, and believes that taking it back and repurpose it will empower the Nisha clan immensely, if taking the entire train back isn't an option. However, the Mist Train is the one and only working model in Iris Cloud, and the power source is too complex to be taken out and it does not refuel like how the Taimanin expected in their original world. The reason why Kuroki destroyed all those buildings on the previous fights is simply to force the SSS to reduce casualties and move as far away as possible until it refuels. Felicia then appeared in the train and joined the Rangers, even though Kotaro was hesitating to have her in and Conductor promptly noticed her unstable personality. Felicia was under Fussen's protection during her stay, and the two went on some Mist Monster hunting sprees while gathering information about Asagi Igawa, who was reported to be in Nishiki. The Rangers and the SSS headed back to Nishiki and met up with her. Kotaro suggested to bait out Shizuku with a fake "refuel device", which is actually a useless prop and completely alien to Iris Cloud's knowledge of technology, but would fool people from the Taimanin universe. Asagi surprisingly already has a military rank in Nishiki and has subordinates she can order to create such a device. Asagi reminded Kotaro and the Rangers again that prior to everyone being teleported to Iris Cloud, this was still a mission given to them to subdue Shizuku, and she will only observe their fight. Later that same night, the Mist Train was parked on a building that would look like a refueling station, and the Conductor pretended to "refuel" the device attached to a plausible compartment of the Mist Train and left. Shizuku reappeared as predicted, hoping to obtain the energy source, but an ink bomb detonated instead and he was drenched in Hebiko's ink. The ink prevented him from turning invisible, but he was still able to hide himself inside the ink drops. Fortunately, because the ink is mostly saltwater, Yukikaze's lightning is able to conduct and forced him out. Shizuku was then frozen in place, and finally knocked out by Rinko's Itto Style Ninja Art. Asagi's subordinates have arrested and taken him to Ezo Prison for the time being, until a new Gate reopens in Iris Cloud and all the Taimanin are able to return to their homeworld, taking the captured Shizuku along.

Trivia

• Kirara Onisaki is an important recurring character in the Taimanin (対魔忍) online games. This event follows the Taimanin RPGX timeline, where she was in Kotaro Fuuma's Rangers to complete Asagi Igawa's mission to capture Shizuku Kuroki.
• Kirara refuses to use her Transformation Art, resorting to her ice magic instead inherited from her mother's frost oni bloodline.
• While the profile states Birthday and Constellation is "Classified", her birthday is canonically on February 15.
• Kirara Onisaki and Yukikaze Mizuki are the first characters in the game to have their second A-Rarity Layers, being an alternate future version of herself.
