A competitive tsundere that never breaks the rules and does not tolerate misdeeds, called as a "Primaria" by Messina, Italian for head physician, despite her not knowing much in the medical field. Her lifelong goal is to retake her Ancient Kingdom Sitiria, the homeland of her creators.

Character Stories

Messina - Battlefield of the Human Body

Palermo was seen bickering with Catania while Conductor went to visit Messina, who the former blamed her own curse for killing her teacher. Palermo introduced herself as an alchemist and descendant of the Ancient Kingdom Sitiria, but is called by Messina as her Primaria, lead physician (いいんちょう). She also noted to Conductor that she's much much older than him despite her current looks. After finding no physical injuries on Messina, Palermo used her powers to have Conductor travel inside Messina's psyche to get rid of source of her illness. Palermo noted that Conductor is exceptionally calm, even when she used her magic to have him be inside Messina's body so suddenly without explaining or giving any warning first. She then asked Conductor for status reports as he gets assaulted by Messina's inner Id.

Eventually Conductor cured Messina's illness and she woke up, which is caused by excessive side effects of her artifact Asclepius. Although she thanked her Primaria Palermo, she is very ashamed that Conductor knew all her inner secrets, including lewd thoughts she didn't want him to know. Palermo responded saying that it's the same as a doctor performing surgery on his or her naked patients, and there's nothing to be ashamed of, though she could wipe Conductor's memories if she wanted, though it may not work.

Trivia

  • Palermo's birthday is the start date of the Sicilian Vespers, a successful rebellion on the island of Sicily that broke out at Easter 1282 against the rule of the French-born king Charles I, who had ruled the Kingdom of Sicily since 1266. Her backstory of retaking the Ancient Kingdom Sitiria is also a reference to this.
  • Palermo's dislike of crime, her hobby of fighting villains, as well as her intolerance of lawless behavior is likely a reference to the Ciaculli massacre, which shifted the Mafia war into a war against the Mafia, which in turn prompted the first concerted anti-mafia efforts by the state in post-war Italy. Within a period of ten weeks, 1,200 mafiosi were arrested, many of whom would be kept out of circulation for as many as five to six years.
  • Palermo's first appearance is in Messina (Angel on the Battlefield)'s Story 4 - Battlefield of a Human Body 2, before her playable debut.
  • Her liking of gelato is Italy's well known dessert, the Gelato Festival is celebrated every year between July 23 and 26 in Palermo, held in one of the city square of Piazza Verdi, before the Teatro Massimo. In 1686, Francesco Procopio dei Coltelli, a Sicilian, brought his grandfather Francesco's gelato-making machine to Paris, opened Café Procope and introduced the dessert. Procopio obtained French citizenship, and a royal license from Louis XIV, making him the sole producer of the frozen dessert in the kingdom.
  • The building in the background of [Primaria Who Does Justice] is the front facade of the Palermo Centrale station.
  • Palermo is the first Mist Train Girls character to have an alternate weapon type, but not the first character. The first character to have their 2nd weapon type is Yukikaze Mizuki of the Taimanin collab.

Palermo Centrale station entrance.

Palermo Centrale is the main railway station of the Italian city of Palermo, capital of Sicily. It is one of the most important "FS" stations of Italy. Along with Catania Centrale, Messina Centrale and Syracuse it is one of the most important stations of its region. It is owned by the Ferrovie dello Stato, the national rail company of Italy. The railway station, designed by the Italian architect Di Giovanni, was opened on 7 June 1886. Characterised by its neoclassical lines, it features pictorial and period decorations in some areas, designed and coordinated by the painter Rocco Lentini.

Palermo Centrale metro platform.

Until 1941, the design is of a big roof with a structure in iron and glass, substituted in the early 1950s with a reinforced concrete structure. The canopy, 90.38 metres long and with a span of 40 metres, was fitted with a double skylight; it had been designed in 1883 by engineer Ausanio Cajo of the Società Italiana per le strade ferrate meridionali (Italian Society for Southern Railways), later deputy director general of the State Railways, which managed the Calabrian-Sicilian network, and built by the Società Nazionale delle Officine di Savigliano.

Palermo Centrale lies in the middle of the city, at Julius Caesar square (Piazza Giulio Cesare), and its building has a multi-level structure. It is a terminal station with 10 platforms for passenger service. The station is situated on the lines Messina-Palermo and Palermo-Trapani. It is also the terminal of Palermo-Catania and Palermo-Agrigento lines. As transport the Centrale is an important hub of regional services for Sicily, also served by the citizen subway which links it to the Airport of Punta Raisi. For long distance transport it is the terminus of InterCity trains to Naples, Rome, Milan and still 1970s to Paris. It is still not served by Le Frecce trains, principally for its position on an island, but it is included in the project of Berlin–Palermo railway axis. Wikipedia

Palermo City

Palermo (Sicilian: Palermu, locally also Paliemmu or Palèimmu) is a city in southern Italy, the capital of both the autonomous region of Sicily and the Metropolitan City of Palermo, the city's surrounding metropolitan province. The city is noted for its history, culture, architecture and gastronomy, playing an important role throughout much of its existence; it is over 2,700 years old. Palermo is in the northwest of the island of Sicily, by the Gulf of Palermo in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The city was founded in 734 BC by the Phoenicians as Sis ("flower"). Palermo then became a possession of Carthage. Two Greek colonies were established, known collectively as Panormos; the Carthaginians used this name on their coins after the 5th century BC. As Panormus, the town became part of the Roman Republic and Empire for over a thousand years. From 831 to 1072 the city was under Arab rule in the Emirate of Sicily when the city became the capital of Sicily for the first time. During this time the city was known as Balarm. Following the Norman conquest, Palermo became the capital of a new kingdom, the Kingdom of Sicily, that lasted from 1130 to 1816.

Palermo is Sicily's cultural, economic and tourism capital. It is a city rich in history, culture, art, music and food. Numerous tourists are attracted to the city for its appealing Mediterranean climate, its renowned gastronomy[citation needed] and restaurants, its Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Art Nouveau churches, palaces and buildings, and its nightlife and music. Palermo is the main Sicilian industrial and commercial center: the main industrial sectors include tourism, services, commerce and agriculture. Palermo has a local railway called the Palermo metropolitan railway service. The main railway station of Palermo is Palermo Centrale which links to the other cities of Sicily, including Agrigento, Trapani and Catania, and through Messina and the strait to the rest of Italy. The railways also connect to the Palermo airport with departures every thirty minutes.
